A passion for the honor of God's name. The deepest desires of our heart are satisfied as we come to love and worship God.
A passion for the gospel. The gospel is the good news of what God has done for sinners in the person of his Son, Jesus Christ. In particular, it is the good news that God's wrath against our sins has been satisfied through Christ's death. Jesus Christ lived the perfect life that we are called to live, and he died the death that we deserve. This is the message that we are called to believe. The gospel is our hope and our life; it is the constitution of our church.
A passion for a new community. We are called to be servants of one another in a community of justice, mercy, and compassion.
A passion for growth and maturity. God's covenant with us provides not only the promise of forgiveness for sins, but a promise that he will free us more and more from the power of sin. Being a Christian is a call to conform our minds to the Bible: to think, feel, and do God's thoughts.
A passion for missions. "Missions exists because worship doesn't."* We want others to be renewed by the grace of God and give him the glory he deserves. Because we believe in a God who controls everything that happens, we have great confidence that God's word will be effective in the task of evangelization and missionary activity.
A passion for tradition. The rich heritage we have received from our forefathers in the faith has incredible relevance for the questions of today.
